Sonoma Wine-Sonoma Wine Country Weekend

This year’s Labor Day Weekend, August 29-31, plays host to Sonoma Wine Country Weekend, Wine Country’s premier wine and food festival, combining the best of the Sonoma County Showcase of Wine and Food and the Sonoma Valley Harvest Wine Auction. Sonoma Wine Country Weekend features more than 200 wineries and chefs over three days of fabulous winemaker lunches and dinners, a grand tasting, and an exciting wine auction renowned for its wild themes and winemaker skits.

Winemaker lunches and dinners will be hosted Friday, August 29 and Saturday night, August 30 at several prominent wineries including Dutton-Goldfield, Ferrari-Carano, Gallo Family Vineyards and Francis Ford Coppola, where guests can meet the actual winemakers in an intimate setting normally reserved for those in the industry only.  Saturday afternoon is the main tasting event with over 110 wineries, 60 premier chefs from the region and several other local artisan companies at breathtaking MacMurray Ranch (normally closed to the public).  On Sunday, the weekend ends with a bang at Cline Cellars, host to the Sonoma Valley Harvest Wine Auction, renowned for its wild themes and winemaker skits. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Redwood Empire Food Bank and the Santa Rosa Junior College's food and wine educational programs.
