Jonata Winery - Winemaker Dinner

August 22, 2008 – 6 pm

 We are pleased to announce this very special dinner introducing Jonata Winery (pronounced HO-notta).  If you are not familiar with Jonata they have a 600-acre estate with 80 acres of vineyard in Ballard Canyon.  The winery is owned by Charles Banks and Stan Kroenke, who also own Screaming Eagle Winery in Napa Valley.

Wine Critic Robert Parker rated the new Jonata wines with points between 91 and 96, claiming the release is “excellent.”  Parker added that Jonata is “building a remarkable portfolio” that will “make the wine world take notice.” 

Wine critic James Laube of Wine Spectator agrees after a blind tasting “it’s an impressive lineup and considering theses are his first wines, from young vines, the potentional is there for greatness”

          Winemaker Matt Dees formerly with Staglin Family Vineyards and New Zealand’s Craggy Range, said the focus at Jonata is Bordeaux blends. Robert Parker believes that Matt Dees is “one of the most promising newsomers to emerge…”  Dess has selected five exquisite wines that will be paired with a five-course gourmet meal.   Reservations are required for this limited seating event.  $250 pp all inclusive (includes tax & gratuity).
