Many wine enthusiasts and professionals laud high-end glassware, and often recommending various sizes and shapes. However, no independent research has ever shown expensive glassware to increase wine aromas & flavors. There are two important elements to how a wine smells and tastes: first, having oversized stemware with a large opening is key to tasting wine (this style is often called a Burgundy glass). Second, make sure your wine is served at the proper temperature (cool for reds, slightly chilled for whites).
