(Chicago, IL): Kinzie Chophouse, at 400 North Wells, will host a Benziger wine dinner on Wednesday, May 12, 2004. The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m. with a three-course dinner being served at 7:00 p.m. Special guest speaker Kathy Benziger, the youngest of the seven Benziger children, will give a presentation about the Sonoma Mountain wines and each wine will be paired with the delectable cuisine prepared by the Kinzie Chophouse kitchen. The all-inclusive cost is just $54.95. The menu will include: APPETIZER Maryland Fresh Jumbo Crab Cake with a Splash of Homemade Spicy Remoulade Sauce Paired with: Benziger 2002 Carneros Chardonnay SALAD Mesclun Lettuce served with Bleu Cheese, Dried Cranberries, Duck Confit Drizzled with a Homemade White Balsamic Vinaigrette Paired with: Benziger 2002 Sonoma County Pinot Noir ENTREE Prime 8 oz. Filet set in a Special Béarnaise Sauce Accompanied by Black Tiger Shrimp Paired with: Benziger 1999 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Benziger 2001 Reserve Chardonnay DESSERT Bittersweet Flourless Chocolate Cake Drizzled with a Warm Raspberry Coulis Paired with: Benziger 2002 Port The Benziger Family Winery is one of California’s largest winemaking families in one of the smallest appellations – Sonoma Mountain.
